R. Kelly Trial: The 25 Minute Sex Tape

The judge ordered the courtroom lights to be lowered and the blinds drawn. And then, the 25-minute sex tape at the heart of the R. Kelly child pornography case played Tuesday before a packed house: a Chicago courtroom.

R&B superstar Kelly sat expressionless as the tape was played. He's charged with 14 counts of child pornography and faces 15 years in prison if convicted. Sketch artists were warned that if they drew any depiction of the acts on the tape, they, too, could be charged with child pornography.

On the tape, the man's face is seen only in profile, but the face of the alleged underage girl is plainly visible. At times she appears bored, and she rarely speaks, except when the man tells her to call him "Daddy."

After a variety of sex acts including oral sex, masturbation and urination, the video ends with the man appearing to tenderly wipe the girl off with a towel and then hand her some money.The alleged victim, now 23, denies that she's the girl in the video. Kelly has denied that he is the man depicted in the tape.

Usher Was A Complete "Diva"!

Usher’s pre-taped, edited performance for the Dancing with the Stars finale may look seamless, but what happened behind the scenes at the singer’s May 13th, taping left host Tom Bergeron and company scratching their heads–and scrambling to set up for the live show.

First, the 29-year-old singer arrived late, throwing the entire production behind schedule. Then, while appearing to lip-synch two songs—”Yeah!” and “Love in This Club”—he fell out of step with his choreography, turning the wrong way once and losing his mic a second time. With each mistake he walked offstage.

“He was ridiculous,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Such a diva.”

Rihanna's Big-Screen Role!

Rapper/actor Mos Def and songbird Rihanna will star in the upcoming movie Mama Black Widow, which is based on the 1969 novel of the same name by writer Robert “Iceberg Slim” Beck.

The movie tells the story of a black family’s migration from the Southern Mississippi field, to Chicago in the 1930’s.

The 1969 novel was a graphic tale about the character Otis Tilson, of a black homosexual, growing up black, gay and poor in Chicago in 1946.

The movie, which is currently in pre-production, is being directed by Darren Grant and also stars singer Macy Gray, Brian J. White, Anthony Anderson, Kerry Washington and others.

Mama Black Widow is due in theaters in 2009.

In other words Kanye, Rihanna, Lupe and Pharrell will all be partying it up at The Underground nightclub on Saturday night.

The Album Is Now Just Nas...

A representative for Def Jam has confirmed that hip-hop artist Nas has made an eleventh-hour decision to change the title of his new album from N----- to simply Nas. The Queens rapper sparked a heated debate last fall when he announced the provocative title for his upcoming ninth record, but last October, Island Def Jam Music Group chair Antonio "L.A." Reid publicly denied widespread reports that label execs were uncomfortable with his decision. "We stand firmly behind and beside our artists with pride and with pleasure," Reid told MTV News at the time. "Anything Nas wants to do, I completely stand beside him."

But in an interview with MTV News last week, Nas suggested that he was facing renewed pressure: "Everybody is trying to stop the title.... Record stores are gonna have a problem in this day and time selling a record with that title. Who knows what's gonna turn out and be on that title? Who knows what that title will be?" The politically-charged Nas is due in stores July 1.

Plans for Mariah Carey’s second wedding to husband Nick Cannon are well underway, and this time around, Carey plans to make her nuptials an over-the-top event, according to a source close to the singer.

“It’s going to be held in New York City in the next six weeks. Picture a wedding on the scale of Liza Minnelli’s (to David Gest) and you’ll be on the right track,” said the source.

“She wants over 2,000 guests and the budget will be well over $4 million and she’ll have at least 14 bridesmaids,” the source revealed. One name already said to be confirmed on the guest list: Naomi Campbell. We can’t wait.

What the hell is Mike Tyson doing at the 61st Cannes Film Festival? Why promoting his new documentary, 'Tyson' of course!

The brutally frank, no-holds barred documentary about the life of former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson mixes archive footage with a series of revealing interviews. Tyson, and only Tyson, the documentary reveals that the boxer has lost more than $300m in the last few decades and sees the boxer admit he once sought to conquer and possess the women in his life.

And yes people, before you even ask me the documentary also addresses his rape charge and the whole Evander Holyfield ear chomping incident. The film was met with a standing ovation after it was screened Friday night.

Jay-Z And Barclays

Bruce Ratner, president/CEO of Forest City, and Jay-Z toast the opening of the Barclays Center showroom in New York City. The showroom is a replica of the luxury suites they expect to feature in the New Jersey Nets’ $950 million Brooklyn arena. The Frank Gehry-designed suite is located in The New York Times building.

Jay-Z is a co-owner of The Nets.
